Recipes: Devil's Food Cake Mix

German Chocolate Bars

  • 2 pkgs. "JIFFY" Devil’s Food Cake Mix
  • 1-1/2 cup quick oats
  • 1 stick margarine or butter, softened
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese
  • 1 can (15 oz.) pecan coconut frosting
  • 1-1/2 cup chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350°, grease 13"x9" baking pan.

Combine together cake mix, oats, margarine or butter and 1 egg until crumbly. Set aside 1-1/2 cups of crumbs. Press remaining mixture into prepared baking pan. Sprinkle 1 cup chocolate chips on top. Beat cream cheese and 2 eggs until smooth. Mix in frosting and spread over crust. Sprinkle with remaining crumb mixture and 1/2 cup chocolate chips. Bake 45 minutes.
