R&D Culinary Specialist

As the R & D Culinary Specialist for Chelsea Milling Co. you will work cross-functionally with Sales and Marketing to provide culinary expertise on specific projects selected to highlight the versatility of our mixes for both foodservice and retail. This role will develop new recipes using our mixes to highlight how our product lines provide a foundation for innovation and solve challenges of the operators and home consumers. The Culinary Specialist will experiment with ingredients and tools to create new and familiar dishes highlighting our mix lines. The role is responsible for keeping up with food trends and providing culinary insight for development work. This position also participates in food shows, photo shoots, sample preparation, presentations and other strategic events as needed.

The preferred qualifications for this position include:

• Culinary or food-related degree preferred.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in a commercial/production kitchen.
• The ideal candidate would be a Certified Research Chef and have excellent culinary baking skills.
• Working knowledge of how food ingredients function in baked goods and ability to follow and write precise instructions.
• Proven ability to communicate food trends and their applications to a wide variety of audiences and platforms including food shows, sales meetings, and virtual presentations.
• Collaboration with others and excellent communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites
• Must be a self-starter and have a constant desire to learn.
• Ability to handle multiple projects at one time and be flexible to adapt to the situation.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Willingness and ability to travel.
