Accounts Receivable and Deduction Analyst
Are you an experienced accounting professional with demonstrated Accounts Receivable and Deduction Management skills, and looking to add value? If so, the Chelsea Milling Company (“JIFFY”) is looking to add you as the next Accounts Receivable and Deduction Analyst.
The Accounts Receivable and Deduction Analyst will have responsibilities which include supporting the Accounts Receivable and Deduction work streams.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accounts Receivable
- Apply daily cash receipts (check and ACH).
- Apply payment for window sales, tour sales, and internet sales.
- Support bank reconciliations.
- Support Accounts Receivable reporting.
- Ensure internal audit and compliance standards are met.
- Assist with other tasks and special projects as assigned by the Credit and Collections Manager or Accounting and Finance leadership.
Deduction (Short Pays)
- Provide deduction support:
- Maintain deduction tracking and reporting.
- Run daily open deductions report.
- Pull available deduction paperwork including invoices for deductions taken off invoice with no paperwork.
- Dispute and pursue collections on invalid deductions by contacting the customer, sales broker, or using customer web portals.
- Make copies of the check stubs for deduction that do not have back up.
- Perform other tasks (scanning, attaching, and researching) in support of the processing of deductions.
- Process deductions:
- Enter deduction into the computer and apply deduction reason codes.
- Offset and research credit/debit invoices.
- Complete re-bills for invalid shortage deductions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Credit and Collections Manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
The minimum Qualifications for this position include:
- Knowledge and skills in business and accounting, preferably attained through completion of an Associates or Bachelor’s Degree with focus on Business and/or Accounting
- Accounting work experience, preferably in Accounts Receivable
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to present him/herself and the company in a professional manner.
- Ability to work well with others in a collaborative and team focused way.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Effective communication and organization skills
- Strong Excel skills
- Must be able to remain flexible and to work on multiple tasks.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Skills in Word and SharePoint
The preferred experience for this position includes:
- Manufacturing industry
- Consumer package goods business experience
- Experience with Plex ERP system
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Collaborative and team focused.
- Long periods of sitting
- Extended periods working on a computer
- Periodically may have to walk into the plant where it is dusty and noisy…and interesting.
This position is an onsite position in Chelsea, Michigan at the “JIFFY” Mix headquarters; however, Chelsea Milling Company offers a reasonable work schedule that supports work/life balance.
