Industrial Electrician

This position supports both production and facilities maintenance across a varied campus. The primary focus of the electrical team is to support production by troubleshooting, repairing, debugging, and maintaining all electrical equipment.

The electrical team works closely with Engineering, Maintenance, and Building Services to coordinate, plan, and execute tasks related to electrical construction, equipment modification and installation of both manufacturing equipment and plant infrastructure.

At times this position requires: working outdoors in inclement weather, working safely at heights exceeding 90ft, using man lifts, self-propelled working platforms, ladders, working in cramped or enclosed spaces, and working in hot or cold conditions.

minimum qualifications

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in electrical installation and troubleshooting
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and blueprints
  • Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, and OSHA standards
  • Experience with single and three-phase distribution systems up to and including 480VAC including: Panelboards, Transformers, Switchgear, and MCCs
  • Industrial controls experience including PLC and relay logic-based systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot, repair, replace, calibrate, and maintain modern industrial electrical equipment including Motors, VFDs, Sensors, Instrumentation, Transformers, etc.
  • Desire to work as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, AND the ability to work and make sound decisions with minimal guidance
  • Ability to use hand and power tools to perform all tasks related to electrical construction in a safe and professional manner
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills are necessary to be successful in this role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • State of Michigan Journeyman Electrician license
  • Associates degree or Certificate in related field
  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs
  • Experience with Medium Voltage distribution systems up to 14.2kV
  • Working knowledge of industrial networks including: Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, RIO, SERCOS, and DH+
  • Experience with FANUC robots and vision systems
  • Basic knowledge of industrial pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems

Full-time (8-hour shift, Monday to Friday, Night shift)

$42 per hour
